Well, this post is going to be quite short this week. I have been super busy at work since we are approaching the end of the trimester and report cards. I also had my sister and her family staying with us this weekend. That meant time spent cleaning and organizing last week and less time for reading on Saturday and Sunday.
Books I Finished This Week:
Zip. Zilch. Nada. Nothing.
Books I am Currently Reading:
I am absolutely loving The Crane Wife by Patrick Ness. I also started reading Crown of Midnight, but I think I will be putting that one aside until I can re-read Throne of Glass. I remember really loving these characters, but I am having a hard time following the storyline in the second book because I don't really remember the first book besides the fact that I really liked it. I have read a little more of The Freedom Writers Diary also.
Then, there are the book club books that my students are reading. I try to at least skim the parts of the books that they are talking about to remind myself of the books. I have been re-reading and skimming all of these titles: The Scorpio Races, Life As We Knew It, Code Talkers, Dark Life, Stargirl, and The Boy Who Dared.
What's Next?
I will be starting Dangerous by Shannon Hale. That will probably be all that I can handle this week with report cards being due on Friday.
I always like to see what you're reading Andrea. I love all the book club books, especially Life As We Knew It-great group of books for younger readers. I don't know the Patrick Ness title-will look for it. I think his books are awesome! Thanks-hope this coming week is a little less hectic!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great collection of book group reads! A couple of my favorites there. We're nearly at midterm and I am way behind on grading for one class. Got to find time this week to catch up! Hope your week is calmer and quieter and you get more reading time!
ReplyDeleteI am waiting for a review copy of Patrick Ness' The Crane Wife. I was absolutely floored by his Chaos Walking Trilogy - such a powerful trilogy, and the illustrated version of A Monster Calls. Can't wait to get back reading his novels again. :)
